Chapter 13

Unconditional Love

"Give reverence to all people."

Life is a school for Unconditional Love.

When pondering "Judgment Day" and what it was all about, I turned to God for assistance.  I asked him just what was Judgment Day about.  His response:

"Did you love unconditionally?"

Unconditional love has no strings or conditions attached to it.  It is a love that allows you to be you, fully and completely.  You are loved and accepted for who you are, without judgment.

In order to love another unconditionally, we must first love ourselves unconditionally, for without fully loving oneself unconditionally, there will not be unconditional love of another.

Because life is a game in which we are up against our opponent, the Dark One, we are also up against ourselves as we strive each day to be a better person than the day before.  With so much negativity in our world, we have much to work with and much to master if we wish to graduate from life's school of unconditional love.

Improving our relationship with ourselves brings us to the bottom line of emotional healing: unconditional love.

"You can only love someone to the extent that they are willing to be loved."

We put conditions on our ability to give and receive love because of our pain and suffering.  When we have healed our pain, our sense of self-love improves.  When this happens, our relationships with others (including God and the Universe) are also positively affected.  When in pain, we are unable to love through another's negativity.  Instead, we react to their pain from our own.  When we've healed, we no longer react from a place of pain but from a place of love.  And that is how we love through negativity.
